2016 PLATFORM

2016 PLATFORM I first wrote this platform before the state of Oklahoma officially recognized the Oklahoma Libertarian Party. I do NOW have a political party in which I can embrace officially and do so as a registered Libertarian. This personal platform is not complete and is still a work in progress. It applies to state, local and national policies. Some of my Libertarian friends will criticize it for lacking libertarian purity. Some of my Republican friends may criticize it because because of my social liberty views. Some of my Democratic friends may criticize it because of my economic liberty views. Anyway....My personal platform.  smile emoticon CRAIG DAWKINS 2016 PLATFORM (Version 1 - March 13, 2016) I believe liberty extends to every human being and the role of government is to insure maximum freedom for every person by using vested power to protect individuals from aggression, both foreign and domestic, in preservation and respect for all human rights. Principles o...
End Civil Asset Forfeiture (CAF) in Oklahoma. CAF = the police state stealing your property. "We thought America was the best in the world," he said. "But unfortunately this happened, and it made us [think] like American police are the same as our police in Burma." Unfortunately, Oklahoma is entrapped in a right wing, liberty despising cesspool of police statism and dogma among a majority of voters. Asset forfeiture reform must go beyond the bill offered by Senator Kyle D. Loveless. But even his bill on basic reforms could not be heard because Senator Anthony Sykes supports the current system highlighted by the Washington Post. As long as freedom hating voters elect oppressive police state advocates, tourists should avoid driving through Oklahoma so they won't suffer the same fate as Eh Wah, a refugee from Burma. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2016/04/25/how-oklahoma-cops-took-53000-from-a-burmese-christian-band-a-church-in-omaha-and-an-orphan...

It’s Bigotry, Not Pushback Against Political Correctness

It’s Bigotry, Not Pushback Against Political Correctness Many of those who support Donald Trump claim they do so on the basis that they are weary of political correctness. They rattle off a slew of grievances about feeling silenced when it comes to condemning non-Christians, discriminating against gays, Asians, blacks, Mexicans or any other disfavored minority. They lament not being able to ‘talk straight’ about the proper place of women or making generally sexist remarks. Often those offended about political correctness are openly hostile to Muslims, even advocating they be “carpet bombed into oblivion” while at the same time advocating they not be allowed to immigrate to America. Heck they don’t want anyone, not of ‘our culture’ immigrating. Yet they don’t see themselves as bigots. They are just ‘tired of political correctness.’ Uh huh... These same people who rattle off all kinds of angst against political correctness are often the same people who condemn anyone who question...

Individuals, not Politicians, get to Determine Personal Choice...

Individuals, not Politicians, get to Determine Personal Choice... Gender identity, like all other personal choices, should remain the purview of the individual. Laws that regulate sexuality and orientation are evil and have no place in America. Unfortunately, too many voters support Theocon politicians who believe it's their responsibility to order the lives of the people as they see fit. And too many of these politicians are among those affiliated with the GOP. If the GOP has become a political party devoted to the repression of freedom, they have committed themselves to undoing the purpose and principle of America. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdmghq6nuGE&feature=youtu.be

CBS "60 Minutes" Exposes How Congress Members Dial for Dollars Instead of Doing their Work

CBS "60 Minutes" Exposes How Congress Members Dial for Dollars Instead of Doing their Work CBS aired a segment on the Sunday program "60 Minutes" which detailed how members of Congress spend their time. It is against the law for them to make fund raising calls from their offices. So both major parties created call centers for congress members to use to raise money for themselves and their parties. According to the story, members are advised to spend four hours a day making phone calls, soliciting money, offering favors, etc. A bill called the "Stop Act," offered by Florida Republican David Jolly seeks to end all soliciting for money by federal elected officials. It is interesting to note that no Oklahoma congressman has cosponsored the bill. In fact the bill only has six cosponsors. In researching the fundraising by Republican US Senator James Lankford, he has been prolific in fund raising for both himself and the RNC. And he is so enriched with cam...
