Oklahoma Should End Prohibition Now!

Oregon is getting right on cannabis. When will Oklahoma? Traveling around the state of Oregon has been very enlightening. The state government of Oregon has legalized the selling marijuana for recreational use. They are no longer locking people up in cages for using, purchasing, and marketing marijuana. Oregon expects to raise over $10 million in 2016. Not that I like high taxation, but it turns out that Oregon may have over 4 times that estimate. In the first month of legal cannabis, Oregon colected $3.48 million. That trend would result in over $40 million, not to mention less police state enforcement and incarceration costs. Oregon will allocate the tax in the following fashion: Source: Oregon.gov 40% to Common School Fund. 20% to Mental Health Alcoholism and Drug Services. 15% to State Police. 10% to Cities for enforcement of the measure. 10% to Counties for enforcement of the measure. 5% to Oregon Health Authority for alcohol and drug abuse prevention.
