Question: Do Black Lives Matter?
Those who say "all lives matter" must acknowledge that "Black Lives Matter" or they are lying to themselves and everyone else. As we all know, the phrase "Black Lives Matter" brings spitting rage to some people (virtually all are white who respond that way) because they somehow see the word "only" in front of the phrase. Many who object most loudly are old enough to recall a time when blacks weren't allowed to eat at lunch counters because they were black. And certainly they remember when blacks couldn't enter the front door but were expected to enter through the service doors, or back doors. Others remember when interracial marriage was illegal. Many remember when unemployment insurance was available for occupations dominated by whites, but was unavailable for occupations dominated by blacks.
