5. Oral Roberts University required all incoming freshmen to wear Fitbit fitness tracking devices that reported to their D2L gradebook, automatically logging aerobics points.
6. Nevada native Ammon Bundy and a group of militia members seized and illegally occupied facilities at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.

13. The FDA proposed a crackdown on home-based soap makers in response to new regulations sponsored by California US Senator Dianne Feinstein.
14. Army Gen. Mark Milley and Marine Gen. Robert Neller want women to be required to register for the selective service at age 18 instead of ending the requirement for everyone.
15. Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was accused of “disrespecting” the National Anthem at Super Bowl 50 because he stood quietly and did not place his hand over his heart.

31. Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt was sued by the ACLU for trying to mislead Oklahoma voters in changing ballot language on the medical marijuana ballot initiative.
