JAMES LANKFORD USES OKC BOMBING AS POLITICAL PROP

JAMES LANKFORD USES OKC BOMBING AS POLITICAL PROP..... While complaining that a Democratic senator used the OKC bombing anniversary as a political prop.

Oklahoma US Senator James Lankford dashed to the Senate floor to condemn the use of the OKC bombing to politicize the Supreme Court nomination debate. Apparently he was so offended by the use of the OKC bombing to advance a political agenda that he spent eight minutes talking about the OKC bombing and sent out no less than FIVE media statements on April 19th. The title of the FIVE media statements were: 1. "Senator Lankford Denounces Politicization of OKC Bombing Anniversary" 2. "VIDEO: Senator Lankford Slams Democrat Politicization of OKC Bombing Anniversary" 3. "TUNE IN: Senator Lankford Speech on Democrat Politicization of OKC Bombing Anniversary" 4. "The Oklahoman: OKC bombing anniversary invoked in fight over court nominee" 5. "(RELEASE): Senator Lankford Statement on Oklahoma City Bombing Anniversary" Seriously? If Lankford is going to condemn the Democrats for "politicizing" the OKC bombing, he needs to practice what he preaches. Meanwhile apparently he has inconsistent standards for federal court appointments. On April 19th, regarding the Supreme Court nomination, Lankford said, "we made it very clear that any nominee that went through the process, regardless of who they were, would know in advance, you will not move to a hearing, because it is not the right time." The very next day, April 20th, Lankford issued a media release stating, "Senator James Lankford (R-OK) today appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee in support of two nominees for the US District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma, Judge Suzanne Mitchell and Scott Palk." The "right time" seems to be a flexible concept based more on politics than on principle.
